Baldacci writes great mysteries. He also knows how to step out of that role and delivery something completely different. (Skipping Christmas was a great book!). This time he gives us a tear-jerker. Jack is married to the love of his life. As he served his country in the Middle East, Lizzie raised their two sons and one daughter. When he came back he started a construction company and life is good. You know what is coming next, don't you! Yes, Jack is diagnosed with a terminal illness.
